Hi, I'm Rachel Graham!
Let me tell you how my journey started.
With an intense curiosity for the human body, I began studying anatomy and physiology as a Massage Therapist all the way back in 2004. I cut my teeth in the entrepreneurial world by starting my practice in Tavistock almost right out of school. To my surprise, the rural confines of a small town didn’t hinder the variety of conditions and various degrees of body injuries that walked through my doors.
Over my 19-year career span, I have studied a variety of other modalities, including Esalen Deep Tissue Massage, Core and Pelvic Floor Retraining, Foot Restoration, and even took Doula training- all to broaden and improve my skill set and endless learning about the human form! In 2020, I furthered into a different modality by studying with Ann and Chris Frederick, who founded and created Fascia Stretch Therapy and completing my Level 3 FST Certification in 2023.
Most recently, I have spent over 4 months away from my practice to study under world-renowned bodyworker, teacher and author, Thomas Myers learning his Anatomy Trains Structural Integration. This style of bodywork has been a missing keystone in my quest for greater understanding of the root cause to neuromyofascial dysfunction, deterioration and pain syndromes. This training and board certification is to complete in the Fall of 2024 in San Diego. Life long learning is a passion of mine which has been reinforced by my mentors’ own fervor for knowledge as well as the valuable lesson I gleaned from my mother’s premature departure in 2015 - which informed me of the indispensable value of my attention and the precious time we have here - I want to soak it all in. There are many plans for 2025 starting in Puerto Rico for another Anatomy Trains training on the impact fascial patterning and the emotional body and to be followed up by a trip to Colorado for a human dissection anatomy lab.
I hold many other passions that get peppered in my “spare” time which allow for reflection and attunement and connection. My adoration for foraging in the forest is one of my most favourite “alone pastimes”, done barefoot as many of you know. Lifting heavy things before 6am at the gym is an everyday non-negotiable and, of course, travelling also takes priority for me. Creating community and connection wherever I go has been one of many cherished, non-education perks of all of my travel. Exposure leads to expansion for me - I like surfing the growth edge in all areas of my life. Real surfing is epic too- try it sometime!
My work is with a wide range of clients from children to elderly to professional athletes. The approach to my work consists of blending all these skill sets and life experiences into a tailored session for every individual that I get to work with. I find they’re desperate to improve their body when nothing else has helped them. My work encourages individuals to elevate, reclaim agency and awareness of their body and to live, move and know themselves more optimally than before.
